The Harbour Scene - Delicious Doodles

All being well come the week-end Teri should have this image in the Delicious Doodles Shop.  Isn't it amazing?  It's called "Harbour Scene".  All I will say is that I wish I was there now!!!  This would be fantastic for male cards - especially seeing it's Father's Day on 16 June 2013 - but being a female I would truly love something made with this image.

One Image and Two Completely Different Cards

For both of these cards I have used the Sweet Pea Stamps digital imaged called "Sweet Pea" by Rebecca Sinz.  I decided to make both cards Spring-like.  I have coloured them both with Promarkers, distressed around the edge with my Tim Holtz distressing tool and added a chalk ink pad to accentuate the edge.
For my first card I have used Bearly Mine Designs Mini Dots, Summer's Lace Dreams and The Boys Zone as my backing papers.

I have inked a doily with Tim Holtz's Tea Dye distress ink with my Inkylicious brush and just gone around the edge with the same chalk ink pad used around the image.  The card has been finished off with some lace, flowers, brad, gems and a sentiment from a Debbi Moore CD.
The second card I have made to take part in the Sketch Saturday Challenge this week.  Here is their sketch:
I really struggle with Clean and Simple (CAS) cards but I am happy with the way this has turned out.  More and more CAS cards seem to sell.  No doubt this is down to the costs of posting more elaborate cards.  The backing papers I have been given.  The card has been finished off with two Card Candi and a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment.

Clearly Besotted Fairy Jasmine

This week I was lucky to be the winner of the recent challenge over at Let's Craft and Create and I won a gorgeous stamp from Clearly Besotted called "Fairy Jasmine".  As I make my cards solely to raise funds for different charities it means so much to win anything (well I do enjoy just taking part but to get something like a Top 3 or Top 5 or even a physical win means a lot) and I like to put it to good use so I I couldn't wait for fairy Jasmine to "come out to play".  I've used Memento ink pad, Promarkers and highlighted areas with a white gel pen.  As you can see I didn't make just one card but I made two.  I have paper pieced the dresses and crowns on both images.  I have used a piece of Coredinations card stock I got free with some embossing folders and embossing using a zig-zag on the first card and stars on the second and I have sanded back to the core.

For the first card the backing papers are from the Papermania Happy Days.  I love these papers.  This card has been finished off with some "with love" ribbon, mulberry paper stars I was given, peel off waste squares and a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment.
The backing papers for this second card are Glitz Cashmere dame which I won in some candy.  This card has been finished off with some raffia ribbon, gingham ribbon, mulberry stars, peel-off circles and a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment.

It is Friday and therefore time for another challenge over at Delicious Doodles.  The challenge this week is "lace".
For my card I have used one of Teri's newest images called "Leather and lace".  Isn't she a beauty?  I have made this card for a very special friend.  I have coloured my image with my Promarkers and highlighted areas with my white gel pen.  I've then used my Tim Holtz distressing tool on the image and some of the plain cardstock and then inked the edges with a chalk ink pad.

I decided to go for an orange and yellow colour scheme.  Certainly not my usual colour scheme but I thought it was nice, bright and cheery.  The backing papers I have used are Bearly Mine Designs Gingham, Bearly Mine Designs Mini Dots and Bearly Mine Designs Summer's Lace Dreams.  The card has been finished off with some paper flowers I was given which I have flower brads to, ribbon bow, buttons, die-cut sentiment and lace.

Bearly Mine Challenge - Tuesday 14 May 2013 - Lucky Dip

It's Tuesday again and time for another challenge over at the Bearly Mine Challenge Blog.
The challenge this week is a "Lucky Dip" whereby you have to use 3 items from the above list on your card/creation.

As usual we have two wonderful sponsors this week who are The Paper Shelter and Emerald Fairies.  Emerald Fairies are offering 3 digital images of the winners' choice.  The Paper Shelter are offering a $20 gift certificate to be used in their store.
For my card I decided to make an A5 card for change and also one for those difficult age of teenagers.  I always used to use this size but then got hooked on 6x6 cards.  For my card I have used The Paper Shelter image "Gothic and Modern" and have coloured the image in with my trusty Promarkers.  After die-cutting around the image I have used three different See D's stamps to stamp around the edge.  I've used a dotty stamp and Tim Holtz's Tumbled Glass distress ink.  Then I've used a scroll and a wiggly line with Tim Holtz's Victorian Velvet distress ink.

The backing papers I have used are a pink gingham from the Bearly Mine Designs Spring Surprise digi set and the blue patterned paper is from the Bearly Mine Designs The Boys Zone.  I have finished the card off with some lace, My Craft Studio (MCS) Click-Print-Go flowers which I have bent inot shape with tweezers and added brad centres to, Pearly dots and a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment.

So in relation to the Lucky Dip title of this challenge I have gone for:

Pink/blue combo
Lace
Flowers.

One Sweet Challenge - May 2013

There is another challenge over at the One Sweet Challenge and the topic for May is to "create a card using spring colours".  It's a good few years since I fell in love with Sweet Pea Stamps.  When I first started using them they were only available in rubber but a great deal of images are now available in digital format which is brilliant for people like me living in the UK and am too inpatient to wait for the post to come.  I am really lucky to be on the Sweet Pea Stampers Design Team as I love to use these images.

For my card I have used the Sweet pea Stamps digital image by Karen Middleton called "Magenta Rose".  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and coloured the roses with pink Sakura Stardust pen.  It's lovely and sparkly but a nightmare for the camera flash!!!

The backing papers I have used are Bearly Mine Designs Petunia Parade and Bearly Mine Designs The Boys Zone.  I have inked around a doily with a See D's fern effect stamp and a Versamagic ink pad.  I have finished the card off with some raffia ribbon, foam die-cut flowers and butterfly which I have added Papermania Glitterations to, satin ribbon, pearls and Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment.
