Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Challenge - Saturday 12 April 2014 - Make it square

I am rather late in entering the Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Challenge this week with the topic of "make it square".  I am determined to make more Christmas cards throughout the year this year and have certainly made good progress thus far.

This is a 6x6 inch square card using some backing paper from my stash and an image and sentiment from a Debbi Moore magazine.  I have kept the card very flat (as more depth cards didn't sell last year very well due to the cost of postage needing to send cards like this so as I want as many cards to sell as I make them solely to raise funds for different charities I am going flat boo hoo) and just embellished with the sentiment from the magazine, some Stickles glitter glue here and there and some gems.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Just Keep on Creating - Anything goes
Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper April Challenge - Anything goes
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra - Anything goes
Completely Christmas Challenge - Anything goes
Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Challenge - Make it square
The Crafter's Cafe - Clean and Simple (CAS)
Word Art Wednesday - Anything goes
4 Crafty Girls - Anything goes
Creative Fingers - Anything goes

Season's Greetings

Here is another Christmas card I have made.  I always colour more than one image at the same time in case of mistakes.  If I don't make mistakes I get extra images to use for cards!!!  This image is called "Holly" and is by Rebecca Sinz at Sweet Pea Stamps.  She is available as a digital stamp and a single rubber stamp.
I have coloured the image in with my Graph'it pens and highlighted areas with Pan Pastels.  The backing papers I was given.  I have finished the card off with a die-cut flower made out of tissue paper with Stickles added for some Christmas sparkle, die-cut holly and a sentiment from my Perfect Companions Christmas CD (edged with Stickles glitter glue).

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Just Keep on Creating - Anything goes
Crafty Boots - Sparkle
Creative Inspirations - Lots of layers
Creative Fingers - Anything goes
Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper April Challenge - Anything goes
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra - Anything goes

Sweet Pearl

Here is a card I have made using a Besties image by Sherri Baldy called "Sweet Pearl" for a special lady who needs cheering up on her birthday.  Isn't she a cutie??  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers, fussy cut around the image, highlighted areas with a white Graph'it pen and finally distressed around the edge with Tim Holtz's Gathered Twigs distress ink.
On a piece of kraft card that I got for Mother's Day I used an Embossalicious Grande Dots embossing folder from Crafter's Companion and just embossed normally.  I then inked the de-bossed side of the folder with Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo distress ink and layered the same piece of card onto the ink/folder offsetting just slightly and embossed again.  Next I inked the embossed side of the folder with Tim Holtz's Gathered Twigs distress ink and again offset the same piece of card and embossed again.  This uses the basic letterpress technique but takes it a bit further and I love the three different effects you get if you look closely.

The backing papers I have used are from the Bearly Mine Mixed Media and Mini Dots sets.
With some of the Mini Dots papers I have torn into strips to replicate the waves of the sea.  All the backing papers I have distressed with my Tim Holtz distressing tool and inked with Tim Holtz's Gathered Twigs distress ink.

I have die-cut some Marianne Designs leafy design and highlighted areas with a white Graph'it pen.

I have finished the card off with a die-cut seahorse from my Cricut machine, pearl dots, Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment, lace, ribbon and pearl embellishment.

Bearly Mine Designs - New Release - Fall Fancy and Summer Floral Delights

Today is an exciting day for Donna over at Bearly Mine Designs as it sees the official release of two new digital sets:
Here is a card that I have made using the "Summer Floral Delights" papers.

I have chosen a colour scheme of pink, green and grey and have used two papers from the "Summer Floral Delights" and also from Bearly Mine Designs "Plain and Simple" came the plain green paper.  I have printed off the paper three times so that I could decoupage up the roses.

The main image that I have decoupaged is from Joanna Sheen's Jane Shasky CD.

I have finished the card off with a stamped sentiment, ribbon, gems, doily inked with Tim Holtz's Peeled Paint distress ink and a lovely Prima butterfly.
Here is a card I have made using a Delicious Doodles image called "Gothic Fairy".  I have coloured the image in with my Graph'it pens.  I have layered it up and added white dots as highlights.

The backing papers I have used are Bearly Mine Designs Fall Fancy for the main backing paper and Bearly Mine Designs Gingham, Mini Dots and Love Dreams for the punched out leaves.  I have used my Tim Holtz distressing tool around the edge of the main backing paper and inked with Tim Holtz's Peacock Feathers distress ink.

I have finished the card off with a clock die-cut which I have  inked with Tim Holtz's Peacock Feathers and Faded Jeans distress inks and some punched out leaves inked with Tim Holtz's Rusty Hinge distress ink.

Here is my final card to show you.  It is using a Delicious Doodles image called "Little Pumpkin Fairy".  I have coloured the image in with my Graph'it pens, highlighted areas with a white Graph'it pen and added some sparkle to her fiary wings with my gold Graph'it pen.  I have used my Tim Holtz distressing tool around the edge and inked with Tim Holtz's Rusty Hinge distress ink.

The backing papers I have used are again Bearly Mine Designs Fall Fancy for the main backing paper and Bearly Mine Designs GinghamMini Dots and Love Dreams for the punched out leaves.  I have used my Tim Holtz distressing tool around the edge of the main backing paper and inked with Tim Holtz's Rusty Hinge distress ink.  I have die-cut some shapes for the image to sit on, one of which I have stamped with a See D's swirl stamp and Rusty Hinge distress ink.

I have finished the card off some punched out leaves inked with Tim Holtz's Rusty Hinge distress ink.

Little Bird House

Here is a 3D Spring-like little bird house project I have created.  I have kept the colours to Spring-like colours of yellow, green and brown.
I have used a template from Craft Artist for the bird house and used papers from Bearly Mine Designs Mixed Media set for the inside and outside of the birdcage.
I have used a set of stamps I bought in a Stamp Addicts sale a few years back.  It is a set of gorgeous birds which I have stamped with Versafine sepia and cut them all out.
All around the bird house I have punched out various flower shapes, inked every layer and stuck them together.

For the flowers I have used various shades of yellow and green backing papers from the Bearly Mine Designs Plain and Simple and Mini Dots.
Here you get a close-up of the punched/inked and stamped flowers along with the cute little birds that I have inked and cut out.
As you will see all sides and the top of this bird house have been decorated.
Apart from the stamped birds, punched/inked flowers the bird house has been simply finished off with a ribbon bow.

I am entering this 3D little bird house into the following challenges:
