Bearly Mine Inspiration and Challenge Blog - Monthly Inspiration by Kym - April 2014

Hello it is Kym here and today it is my turn to show you an inspirational project for the Bearly Mine Inspiration and Challenge Blog.
Here is a card I have made using a Stitchy Stamp image called "Butterfly Love".  I have coloured her with my Promarkers and then highlighted areas with my new Graph'it white pen - love this!!!  Around the image I have made a cloud effect with a template I've made and a pink Pan Pastel.

The backing papers I have used are from Bearly Mine Designs Gingham and Plain and Simple sets.  On the "Plain and Simple" paper I have used a Sheena Douglass distress stamp.  On the "Gingham" paper I have used a Visible Image star stamp from my "Jake Skates" stamp set.

I have finished the card off with lots of Bearly Mine Designs freebie flowers cut out with Papermania Glitterations for the centres, a few feathers and a sentiment from my Perfect Papercrafting Companions CD.

I hope you have enjoyed my little inspirational post.

Off to the seaside ................

For this card I have gone for a male themed card.

I have used various Delicious Doodles images - Sunset at SeaDeckchair, Ice-cream Sundae and Driftwood Border.  I have coloured all the images in with my Promarkers.  I have fussy cut around the driftwood border, inked with Tim Holtz's Gathered Twigs distress ink and then rubbed over my gold metallic Pan Pastel over the sand in the picture, around the driftwood frame and the dotty card (made with a large dotty Embossalicious embossing folder).

The backing papers I have used are from the paper pad called "The Seaside" by Crafty Individuals.  I love this paper pad.

I have finished the card off with some Marianne Designs die-cut shells and anchor, 3D tag sticker and a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Splish, splash
Suzy Bee's Blooming Challenge - Frame it (I have framed the Sunset at Sea image with the driftwood frame border)

Here come some mermaids ..................

Here are two cards that I made some time ago but never posted on my blog.
The first card uses an image called "Flowers on the Beach" by Conie Fong.  It is available as a digital image at Sweet Pea Stamps.  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Old Paper and Chipped Sapphire distress inks.

The backing papers I have used are from the paper pad called "The Seaside" by Crafty Individuals.  I have again inked around the edges with Tim Holtz's Chipped Sapphire distress ink.

I have finished this card off with some Marianne Designs die-cut shells which I have inked with Tim Holtz's Old Paper distress ink, doily, ric-rac ribbon, flowers (with sequin and brad centres and inked with Tim Holtz's Victorian Velvet distress ink) and a die-cut sentiment.
The second card is using a Sweet Pea Stamps Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Caribbean Treasure".  I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers.

The backing papers are from my stash.  My little skulls are from a stamp set from Visible Image.  I love their stamp sets as you get a main image and lots of other little ones to accent a card.  This skull comes from the set called "Max Rocks".  Make sure you pop on over to the Visible Image Shop to have a look at their wonderful stamps.  I have coloured the skulls with a Pastel Beige Promarker and then coloured over the top with a silver glittery Graph'it pen.

The card has been finished off with some raffia ribbon (which was purple but I painted with white gesso), die-cut sentiment and a Marianne Designs die-cut anchor which I have coloured with a Pastel beige Promarker and coloured over the top with a silver glittery Graph'it pen.

I am entering these cards into the following challenges:

Moving Along with the Times - Card containing the word "happy" - both cards say "happy birthday"
Crafty Ribbons - Anything goes with ribbon (for the first card I have used ric-rac ribbon and for the second card I have used raffia ribbon)
Sweet Pea Stampers - Mermaids
Bunny Zoe's - Distressing
The Stamping Boutique - Birthday cards/projects
The Squirrel and the Fox - Use a die-cut or punch
One Stitch at a Time - Favourite things (seaside, colouring images, using dies and ribbon)
Fan-tastic Tuesday - Anything goes
Creative Card Crew - Girly

Gruffies and Guest Challenge - April 2014 - Anything goes with the option of lovely lace

On 1 April 2014 the new challenge started over at the Gruffies and Guests Challenge Blog.

As I mentioned at the start of this challenge there has been a change over at the Gruffies and Guests Challenge Blog.

We would prefer to see all your House Mouse, Gruffies and Happy Hoppers creations but felt that you were not entering challenges because you didn't have anything suitable for the topic.

We are now an "Anything Goes Challenge" each month but there is an optional twist for those that prefer a more specific challenge topic.  If you enter using the "optional twist" you get two entries into the challenge.

The topic for the whole for the month is "anything goes with the optional twist to use lovely lace".
The sponsor for the Gruffies and Guests Challenge for April 2014 is Bearly Mine Designs.  Donna is offering the lucky winner a £10 voucher to spend in the Bearly Mine Designs Store.
For my card I have used the Joanna Sheen House Mouse Project CD and chose these little characters having fun with lemons and limes.  I have taken the photograph at a strange angle to show that I have layered up the decoupage.  I have done some simple matting and layering using a backing paper from the CD and also put some card through a large dots embossing folder.  I have made some flowers by die-cutting flowers from a book and colouring with Tim Holtz's Mustard Seed and Shabby Shutters distress inks and the flowers are held together with brads.

I have finished the card off with some lace, doily, sentiment off the CD and some gems.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

613 Avenue Create - Anything goes and optional twist to reuse/recycle something
Just Keep on Creating - Anything goes
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything goes
CD Sunday - Something old, something new (old is the brads which I have had for 2-3 years, new is the gems and doilies (won these in some candy))

May all your wishes come true

This is a card made for someone going through a difficult time due to cancer.  I have used a Besties image called "Img819BHTWO".  I have coloured my image in with my Graph'it pens and as the Graph'it Challenge this week is "using greys" that is what I have done:

Dress/hearts/tights - 9101, 9103, 9105 and 5120
Wings - 9502, 9504, 9103, Graph'it silver pen and Graph'it white pen
Hair - 1270, 1250, 9105, 9504
Background - 5120, 9101, 9103 and blender pen.

I have done dots of greys and pinks and blended them with the Graph'it blender pen to make a distressed background.  I have then inked around the edge of the image with Tim Holtz's Pumice Stone distress ink.

The backing papers I have used are from Bearly Mine Designs Gingham, Plain and Simple, Simply Stripes and Mini Dots.

I have finished the card off with a die-cut border, grosgrain ribbon, Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment, felt/punched flowers and some gems.

Thinking of You

Here is a card I have made using a Crafts and Me rubber stamp by Jasmine Beckett-Griffith called "Angel with Emeralds".  I have coloured the image in with shades of purple - well it is my favourite colour!!  I have then fussy cut around the image.

I recently won a challenge sponsored by Scribble and Scrap and I got a voucher to spend.  I got some images but I got a set called "Monochrome Set 1" and a set called "Perfectly Purple" which I have used for this card.  It was hard to pick which purple papers to choose but I have chosen three different ones to use.

I have finished the card off with a stamped sentiment, seam binding ribbon, pearls and two die-cut feathers (In'spire by Spellbinders - Feathers on the Wind) rubbed over with some purple distress Stickles.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Crafty Boots - Sparkle

Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Challenge - Saturday 12 April 2014 - Make it square

I am rather late in entering the Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Challenge this week with the topic of "make it square".  I am determined to make more Christmas cards throughout the year this year and have certainly made good progress thus far.

This is a 6x6 inch square card using some backing paper from my stash and an image and sentiment from a Debbi Moore magazine.  I have kept the card very flat (as more depth cards didn't sell last year very well due to the cost of postage needing to send cards like this so as I want as many cards to sell as I make them solely to raise funds for different charities I am going flat boo hoo) and just embellished with the sentiment from the magazine, some Stickles glitter glue here and there and some gems.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Just Keep on Creating - Anything goes
Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper April Challenge - Anything goes
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra - Anything goes
Completely Christmas Challenge - Anything goes
Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Challenge - Make it square
The Crafter's Cafe - Clean and Simple (CAS)

Creative Fingers - Anything goes

Season's Greetings

Here is another Christmas card I have made.  I always colour more than one image at the same time in case of mistakes.  If I don't make mistakes I get extra images to use for cards!!!  This image is called "Holly" and is by Rebecca Sinz at Sweet Pea Stamps.  She is available as a digital stamp and a single rubber stamp.
I have coloured the image in with my Graph'it pens and highlighted areas with Pan Pastels.  The backing papers I was given.  I have finished the card off with a die-cut flower made out of tissue paper with Stickles added for some Christmas sparkle, die-cut holly and a sentiment from my Perfect Companions Christmas CD (edged with Stickles glitter glue).

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Just Keep on Creating - Anything goes
Crafty Boots - Sparkle

Creative Fingers - Anything goes
Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper April Challenge - Anything goes
